10 Things To Do This Fall

img_5169Since autumn has officially begun as of September 22nd and here in Oklahoma we finally had our cold snap signaling the beginning, it is finally time to start doing all the fun fall activities we know and love! Here are ten things you should add to your fall bucket list this year!

1. Go to a Pumpkin Patchimg_5168

The first thing I think of when I think of fall is pumpkins. Pumpkin spice, pumpkin bread, pumpkin soup, everything pumpkin! Whether you paint them or you carve them, one of my favorite things to do in autumn is going to a pumpkin patch and find the perfect pumpkin for Halloween. I may only think this is so fun because I do it with my family each year, but it is a tradition I cherish. Also, a pumpkin patch is a really cute place to take pictures!

2. Drink Hot Chocolate

As the weather starts to change and get colder, it is the perfect opportunity to cuddle up with a cup of hot chocolate and embrace the changing seasons. You can try mixing in flavors from assorted coffee creamers as a way to have a bit more fun with it!

3. Have a Bonfire

Bonfires are fun in any season, but for some reason are just that much more fun in the fall. It’s not so hot that you can’t stand to sit beside the fire like in summer, and not so cold that you have to basically stand inside the fire so you don’t get frostbite like in the winter. In the fall the air is just starting to get that crisp scent that mixes so well with the smell of the bonfire. Take this opportunity to roast marshmallows and make smores! Try using candy bars like Snickers or Butterfingers in place of regular chocolate for a yummy twist!

4. Go Sweater Shopping

As the weather starts to get chillier, commemorate it with a cute new sweater… or five. #treatyourself

5. Have a Photo Shoot in a Forest

Use those cute new sweaters you bought and go take some pictures outside. As the leaves change color it becomes the perfect natural backdrop for photos. Recruit some friends and have fun with it!

6. Drink a Pumpkin Spice Lattefullsizerender

Pumpkin flavored everything is back in season! If you’re one of those people who really like pumpkin spice lattes, go buy one! Don’t let anyone bully you about it! If you’re like me and don’t like all the milk in a traditional PSL and you like the taste of coffee you can try a pumpkin chai or simply adding pumpkin sauce to a brewed coffee. I like mine iced, but if you like it hot I imagine it would work for both!

7. Watch Scary Movies

This time of year is when all the best scary movies come out. Grab a buddy and go see one together! Take blankets to cuddle with and hide behind during the really scary parts! It’ll make for a great story and excellent bonding.

8. Go to a Corn Stalk Maze or Haunted House

If scary movies aren’t enough for you, go to a haunted house! If you’re in the Tulsa area, I’ve heard Hex House is terrifying. Look up haunted houses near you! Corn mazes can also be scary, but a lot of the time you can find ones that are just fun to go through and don’t get scary until the sun goes down!

9. Go Tailgatingimg_4968

Fall=Football. If you’re a college student, you’re likely going to every game. Football season is one of my favorite times of year around OSU. Dressing up and watching football with my friends and family is an amazing way to spend my Saturdays in the fall. If you can’t get into the games, tailgating is just as much fun. The environment of game day is so fun that even just being on campus and talking to friends is enough to make you Saturdays more entertaining.

10. Go Scent Shopping at Bath and Body Works

Going to Bath and Body Works and smelling all of their fall scents is one of the things I most look forward to in fall.  Even if I don’t buy anything, smelling all of their candles and rooms scents is a great way to spend part of an afternoon.
